Jakob’s first camporee

Today Jakob’s Webelos Den head up to Camp Geronimo outside of Payson. Once we go up there the boys started by setting up camp. Once camp was setup we head to the common area to have a scout cooked lunch of BBQ-beef and baked-beans. Jakob then got to participate in several activities: tomahawk throwing, knife throwing, archery, blow-darts, and rubber band guns.

We then headed back to camp. Once back at camp Jakob learned how to make a camp fire using only a match. Once the fire was going we then had a dinner of sloppy-joes, potato salad, and green salad. Then if was off to the main campfire to watch skits, and after an hour of entertainment, we went back to enjoy our smaller campfire and make smores. This was a fun fire for the kids to see start. We used a fair amount of white-gas to cause the whole fire to burst in to flames. About 9:30 it was off to bed after a very full day.
